However, for those who are curious about the FEAST granting process, and to assist artists in preparing future proposals, please read below for information on preparing a proposal. Again, please note that we are not currently accepting artist proposals.

About FEAST
FEAST (Funding Emerging Art with Sustainable Tactics) is a multi-disciplinary, community-based artist grant. We encourage projects that reflect community needs and welcome all types of manifestation, including (but certainly not limited to) performance, video, fashion design, and public installation. Please understand that the number of proposals we are able to accept and display at each FEAST is based on the venue we're at and how much space is available.

Before crafting your proposal, please consider the following:
· What community are you trying to serve?
· Who does this project benefit?
· How do you plan to spend your grant?
· When will this project occur?
· If you win, how will you present your progress at the next FEAST?
· Have you applied for any other grants before for this project?

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please read and follow very carefully the instructions below. Word counts will be strictly enforced. Deviation from the described format will delay or disqualify your proposal.

Step 1: Write your proposal using the following format. Keep in mind that this text will be what the FEAST attendees will read and base their votes on.
A. First and last names of the project leader and any project collaborators
B. Contact information for project leader: email address, phone number, mailing address
C. Brief project title (8 words maximum)
D. Project summary (100 words maximum)
E. How will your project manifest at the next FEAST, to be held in approximately 12 weeks? (60 words maximum)
F. How will you use funding (up to $1000) towards the realization of your project? (60 words maximum)
G. Why is this project critical to the community? (60 words maximum)

Step 2: Gather your imagery.
We request that you submit up to 4 images that will appear alongside your written proposal at FEAST.

If your project is time-based, you may also submit a 1-minute video in the form of a URL to YouTube. Unfortunately, we will be unable to display your video at the actual event venue; only patrons who review your proposal on the FEAST website before the event will see your video.

Step 3: Email your written proposal and images to artists@feastmpls.org. (Note: Artist proposals are NOT being accepted at this time.)

Your written proposal, formatted as described above, should be delivered as a text-only Microsoft Word file. The filename of the written proposal should contain the first and last name of the project leader. Do not deliver the written portion as a PDF file or an image file, and do not type the written portion into the body of your email: you must attach a Word file or similar word-processing file. We cannot accept hard copies of artists’ proposals.

Your images should be delivered as JPEG or PNG files, up to 1 megabyte each, and must be suitable for output at 150ppi at 8" x 10". The filename of each image should contain the first and last name of the project leader. Do not embed images into your Word file. Images that are larger than 1 megabyte will be discarded. We cannot accept hard copies of images.

Step 4: Wait for confirmation and start inviting your friends!
We’ll inform you one week before the upcoming FEAST event if your proposal has been selected for voting at FEAST. Remember that when you help promote FEAST to your friends, more of them will be in attendance to help vote for your project!

A note about attending FEAST: We strongly encourage you to attend FEAST with lots of friends to enthusiastically drum up votes for your project and informally speak with patrons about your project. If you would like to set up anything in addition to the proposal that we'll post for you, please inform us of your plans as soon as you enter your proposal. For any set-up, we ask that you arrive 90 minutes prior to the FEAST start time. Please coordinate this set-up with our artist support crew by emailing artists@feastmpls.org.
